La passion pour la musique s'est développée tôt chez Thomas Rüedi. Né en 1969 à Oberwil près de Büren, il commença dès l'âge de onze ans à jouer de l'euphonium. Le jeune débutant est rapidement devenu un expert reconnu : Rüedi reçut bientôt denombreux prix nationaux pour son talent de soliste. De 1991 à 1995, il se consacra à l'étude de l'euphonium à l'université de Sheffield enAngleterre, se spécialisant également dans la direction d'orchestre et la composition. Durant cette période, Thomas Rüedi joua en tant que soliste dans de nombreux Brass Bands anglais. Il prouva ses capacités, entre autres, en assurant la fonction de directeur musical du «Brassband Bürgermusik Luzern» de 1995 à 2002. En parallèle, il dirigea de 1997 à 2006 l'ensemble du «Seeland Brass». Aujourd'hui, Thomas Rüedi enseigne, en tant que professeur, l'euphonium, la musique dechambre et l'arrangement aux hautes écoles de musique à Berne et à Lucerne. Il a acquisune très bonne réputation en tant qu'arrangeur et compositeur. A ne pas oublier : ses nombreux arrangements de chants populaires suisses qui ont trouvé une place importante dans le répertoire de la fanfare. Rüedi est depuis longtemps un soliste reconnu internationalement. Ses concerts l'ont mené à travers l'Europe, les Etats-Unis d'Amérique, l'Afrique et l'Asie. Le point culminant de sa carrière fut atteint en 1999, lorsqu'il gagna le premier prix au concours européen des solistes pour instruments à vent métalliques à Munich. Il joue régulièrement en tant que tubiste ténor et trompettiste basse dans des orchestres symphoniques suisses renommés.Thomas Rüedi wurde 1969 in Oberwil bei Büren, in der Nähe von Bern, geboren. Er begann als elfjähriger Euphonium zu spielen. Mit seiner Leidenschaft für das Instrument gewinnt er bald zahlreiche nationale Solistenpreise.Zwischen 1991 und 1995 folgte ein Studium an der Sheffield University (GB), in den Fächern Euphonium, Dirigieren, Arrangieren und Komponieren. Als Solo Euphonist spielte Thomas Rüedi in zahlreichen britischen top Brass Bands mit.Von 1995 bis 2002 war er musikalischer Leiter der Brassband Bürgermusik Luzern (A-Band) und ist seit 1997 Dirigent von „Seeland Brass“.Als Gastdirigent gewann er 2004 mit der Brass Band Berneroberland den Swiss Open und den European Open Wettbewerb in Luzern.Thomas Rüedi ist Dozent für Euphonium und Kammermusik an den Musikhochschulen Luzern und Bern. Als Arrangeur und Komponist setzt er sich stark für die Bereicherung des Euphonium Repertoires ein.Seine Soloauftritte führten ihn durch Europa, USA und Asien. 1999 gewann Thomas Rüedi den 1. Preis des Europäischen Solistenwettbewerbes für Blechbläser in München. Im Jahr 2000 erschien sein erstes Soloalbum „Elégie“.Als Tenortubist und Basstrompeter spielt er regelmässig in renomierten Schweizer Sinfonieorchester.„Synthesis“ ist eines der neusten Projekte. Thomas Rüedi geht mit seinem Duettpartner, dem bekannten Marimbaphon Virtuosen Raphael Christen, neuen Tonspuren nach!Thomas Rüedi was born in 1969 in Oberwil, near Berne, Switzerland and began playing the euphonium at the age of 11. He soon showed a great affinity for the instrument which led to him winning many national solo prizes in his youth. Thomas Rüedi went on to study music in England between 1991 and 1995, following degree courses in euphonium, conducting, composition and arranging. As a solo euphonium player, he has performed with many of Britain’s finest brass bands. Back in Switzerland, Thomas Rüedi was appointed musical director of Brassband Bürgermusik Luzern (1995-2002) and „Seeland Brass“ (1997 to date). As a guest conductor of Brass Band Berneroberland, Thomas Rüedi won the Swiss Open and European Open Contest 2004 in Lucerne. He is euphonium and chamber music tutor at the Musikhochschule Luzern and Hochschule der Künste Bern. He is also active as a composer and arranger, having a particular interest in the enrichment of the euphonium repertoire. Thomas Rüedi has performed as soloist throughout Europe, USA and Asia. In 1999 he was awarded first prize at the European Solo Championships for brass players in Munich. He regularly performs with some of Switzerlands finest Symphony Orchestras, playing the tenortuba and basstrumpet parts. „Synthesis“ is one of his more recent projects in which Thomas Rüedi performs alongside marimba virtuoso Raphael Christen.
