Sakura (littéralement Fleur de Cerisier ) retrace la vie de la fleur de cerisier en pleine floraison au mois de mars. De nombreuses grappes de fleurs tel un nuage aux couleurs pastel viennent enrichir les branches d'une teinte nouvelle. Hélas la nature du climat japonais ne laisse à ces fleurs qu'un droit de vie relativement court. Elle fânera et disparaîtra en l'espace d'une semaine. Ce fait climatique semble illustrer la conception japonaise de la beauté : est beau ce qui se perd dans l'éphémère humain.
